The BRS Behavioral Sciences book is full of details like: at age 3 a child should be able to draw a circle; age 4 draw a cross; age 5 draw a square; age 6 draw a triangle.

Just wondering how often details like these actually show up on the boards.

I understand the significance of major milestones like the disappearance of the palmar reflex, rooting reflex, moro, etc...

I guess I'd just like to know how much time I should spend on the fine details of child development...

Thanks in advance!

I can't say for sure bc I haven't taken it yet and even if I had it would be ONE of many exams. The way I look at that stuff is EASY POINTS and I want every bone they are willing to throw my way, and the ones I have to rip away from them. It does seem unfair all that memorization for 0 - 2 questions, doesn't it. Like i said free points. hint on that one, the shapes appear in alphabetical order until you reach 7

oh nice, they are in abc order! what do you mean by 'until age 7" ...are there shapes after age 6? i thought it was only ages 3-6...
