I am reapplying this year after applying last year to a limited number of schools very very late. I have done a lot since then in terms of clinical experience, which I was lacking, and I retaking the MCAT and expect to improve since on my first test I did not have time to study(late decision)

Anyhow, I am including my list of schools and was hoping for some advice on any schools i should add or subtract. I am a California resident. I have 3.8 overall and 3.85 science with a 30 MCAT (11PS.10V.9BS R) which I am retaking in august

All California Schools
U of Chicago
Northwestern
Wake Forest
Duke
NYU
Albert Einstein
Mount Sinai
Yale
Cornell
Columbia
Drexel
Emory
Penn
John Hopkins
Harvard
Tufts
Boston U
Georgetown
U of Pitt
U of Miami
Brown
Dartmouth

I realize I listed a lot of places, but given my retaking the MCAT, I applied to a broad number. I wanted to know if there were other places I should add such as Tulane, GW, NYMC, Rochester, etc....or should i be fine with my current list. Thanks and sorry for the annoying post.

I think you're fine if you apply on time. I had similar stats (3.95, 29R) and got into a UC and only applied to a few out-of-state schools. You could add NYMC as a "safety" if you are freaking out since they seem to take lots of Californians. Good luck 🙂

how are you going to do on the august mcat? if you plan to totally rock it (34+), then your list looks fine.

I don't know about Harvard. If you wanna spend the money and take a long shot gamble then go ahead. Sorry to burst your bubble, but unless you do significantly better than a 30 I'd say your chances there aren't very good (unless you have something in your app that makes you stand out as AMAZING).

Agreed...same with Johns Hopkins, and unless you did research I'd dump yale...but hey its your $$$ Good luck! 🙂

along those lines, getting into:
UCLA
UCSF
Northwestern
Duke
Yale
Cornell
Columbia
Penn
John Hopkins
Harvard

would probably be extremely difficult, unless your mcat score goes up significantly
