I know this post cannot be answered in pre-dental forum so I decided to post it up here. I'd appreciate it if you guys can shed some light on this.

being interviewed in September vs being interviewed in November.
DOES IT MATTER??

Do dental schools make a decision on each applicant after an interview but release acceptances in December 1st? or do they have a pile of YES/NO and then go over applications(to rank them) before December 1st again??

If dental schools do like first one, how does it work for an application which was submitted early in June but completed in Mid-July?

For my case, application was submitted on 06/03, sent to schools on 06/27, but DAT was taken on 07/11.

I took longer to study DAT, and, as a result, I did well, but I wonder if I significantly lowered my chances of getting in by taking it in the 2nd week of July.

THANKS!!!!!

As long as you have your interviews by that schools cut-off for the first round of selections, you are fine if you have all your interviews in November. My application was completed in June or July, but because I forgot to contact my old advisor before my undergrad school's semester ended in early May, I had to wait until school started back up to ask him to put together a LOR. My application was finalized in mid-Sept. I still had 8 interviews before mid-Nov and received all acceptances on or just after Dec1st.

So, by taking the DAT on 7/11, you are fine. You are still fine when it comes to having a good chance of getting interviews in time for the Dec 1st selections.
