Junior undergrad U of Iowa, gonna be here for a total of 5 years to help boost everything

GPA: 3.5ish sci GPA :3.2

expereince: over 300 hours volunterring at 2 diff hospitals, bio research lab work over 200 hours, no publications hopfully getting them, job shadows for over 150 hours both MD and DO, applying for a paid research job at a local hospital i should get it with my resume that will be another 200 hours of work

other non realted extras: BJJ(brazillian jujitsu), tennis, soccer, and fitness coach

LOR: both should be farily strong from notable MD's im trying to find a DO to get close enough with to write one of them for me. IMO i make good impressions and have had offers from MD's to write letters for me

MCAT: havent taken a real one yet and barley started studying for them like i said ill be here 5 years so i wont take them untill after my 4th year. im good at taking standerized tests and hopfully should be in the range of 30-34

i plan to apply broad but i have 3 major schools in mind that i would LOVE to go to..1)AZCOM 2) CCOM 3)DMU . im thinking of sending out about 15-20 apps maybe even more. originally from illinois if that matters

so what do you guys think, any advise other that the usual? should i consider retaking classes? please help!!@!
 
Yeah looks good for D.O. schools. your kind of in the situation I'm in so I'd advise making sure you've covered all the admission requirements. Some schools require biochem (i.e. DMU) and most it seems stronly recommend a LOR from a D.O.
 
look at me. ifyou get 30+ apply to both md and do. apply early and braoding
