I was just accepted into Bennington's program. Is there anyone on here in the program? Who else was accepted? I don't know much about the program, so any info would be much appreciated.

Any comments here? I too am interested in hearing about this program.

Hey Everyone,

If you are a part of the Bennington Postbac Class of 2010 like me and have commited to the program, pm me if your interested in discussing finding an apartment/housing for the program. I know in the summer its possible to have on-campus housing, but I figured we could potentially save a good amount of money based on the prices I have seen for available rentals and the advantage of signing a 1 year lease which lowers the rate. PM me or email me: [email protected]

Thanks,

Tom

Thomas, Any idea what stats are needed for Bennington and what they are looking for?

I know they are looking for some evidence of a dedication to medicine(volunteer work, etc). A GPA at least over 3.0. One of the better things I found about Bennington is that they don't really emphasize SAT scores, which could be good or bad depending on who you are and what your undergrad GPA is.

Thanks. 3.6 in English and EMT. Keep us informed as to how you like the program. I will probably apply in the fall.

Hi Tom,

I was accepted into the program too, but I'm not sure if I'm going to go. I'm visiting the college in a couple of weeks, so I figure I'll know then.

Bennington's program seems great. Everyone in the program is passionate about what they are doing. The students are noncompetitive with each other, since they are each judged on their own merit. The group is tight knit and the science courses you'll take will be mostly post-baccs, since the classes are so small. The class I sat in on was really interactive, not lecture style at all.

Bennington is in rural Vermont, so there's not much to do there. You probably won't have enough time to do anything but study if you go there anyway.

For those who are enrolled in or who have completed the Bennington program, would you mind writing about your experience? Also - perhaps offering some thoughts on Bennington vs. other east coast 1 yr programs (Goucher, Bryn Mawr, etc.)?

Thanks..

I have applied to Bennington. Could any current students or recent "grads" of the program comment on their experience. Thanks all
