toluene(benzene-CH3) + HNO3/H2SO4 forms nitrobenzene (benzene-CH3 + --NO2) in either ortho/para position


according to KBB. para is minor product...

I thought that both para/ortho is major product... Am I wrong?

also I'm wondering do I have to care about that in DAT?

Hmmm. I thought Para should be a major product because of a bit steric hindrance from alkyl. If there is a free spot to sit at para, why would it want to go to a crowded Ortho?

There are two ortho sites and one para site. Statistically, it's more likely.
