Could av malformations and berry aneurysms occur simultaneously? Could av malformations lead to berry anuerysms?
Goljan says that berry aneurysms are due to hypertension. So if 1/3 of patients who experience renal av malformations have hypertension, then the occurence of berry aneurysms should go up, correct?

I believe a board question will hone in on the clinical difference. Both will cause subarachnoid bleeding, but they will generally cause them in different areas of the brain. Berrys will be more common at the base of the brain near the circle of willis, so you'll see blood there. AV's will burst and blood will end up around the hemispheres.

Renal AV malformations may cause renin-mediated hypertension. So incidence of berry aneurysms may go up.
