i was thinking either Houston or the Pacific Northwest

i think my love for latinas makes me biased toward Texas

The Pacific Northwest would be a good location if you like hanging out with other highly paid single men. It depends on your goals, I guess.

Honestly you'd figure people who are smart enough to obtain an MD would be smart enough to realize that organizing geographical locations by state is a stupid way of organizing. There's a big difference between being offered a job in "Chicago", and a job in "Illinois".

Yeah, the job in Chicago would suck 🙂

In terms of where I'd want to live, I'd take Chicago over just about any city on the East or West coast, but for the fiscal health of both the city and state means working there can be kind of a sh*tshow.

Pacific NW, Austin, New England sounds nice. Some of the MW states(wisconsin, minnesota) seem cool, as well as some of the southeast. decisions, decisions

Also I recently discovered this hospital in South Carolina. I’m not sure whether it’s fate and I should try to work there at some point or if this is a Highlander situation.

Illinois: California-sized taxes for Mississippi-quality services.

California: California-sized taxes for perpetual water shortages.

...but hey, at least there are pretty coasts and nice weather in California.

Boston has more single women than single men. A lot of them are grad students at one of the many universities around here. I don't know if that's a plus for you (it would be for me). I think Seattle has more single men than single women. I know nothing about Texas.

Chicago isn't for me, thus why I'm going back home to Texas for residency. Cool city, but the weather sucks.

Oh cool, I'm semi-interested in texas myself. Will have to look into Austin vs San Antonio when the time comes.

Good states: Alaska, Corn Fields, the Bible Belt

Bad states: The Northeast, (especially NYC and Providence)

Was not aware New York city was a state.

The article specifically calls out NYC and Providence. However, you are right in my slip-up; feel free to replace the word state with place, location, or anything else that suits your fancy.

Ask Florida congressman alcee l Hastings about Texas... Google that stuff. It's lol funny

just realized that even though boston might have more single women, they would be the hipster feminist type

Totes. You totally wouldn't get that in Seattle, PDX, Houston or Austin.
