I am writing my exam in the first week of october and only have a month to study.
I have the the kaplan MCAT and DAT book and also a KAPLAN OAT destroyer.
I was going over the DAT general chem section and there is soooo much info and since i don't have that much time I don't want to waste time going over stuff like what is an isotope, Bohr model, Ionic and covalent bonds because I already have an idea of that stuff and if you look through the general chem section OAT destroyer they test more on electro chemistry or thermodynamics so should I just skip the rest of the material??

Am i supposed to go over every single detail?? Im just having trouble comprehending how exactly Im guna go prepare for it in a whole month.
I want to study smart and not waste time on concepts that are usually not tested so any suggestions on what to do?
I'm not aiming to score a 400 but definitely over 320.

Have you tried taking a practice test? I think that is a good place to start, because it can identify for you where your strong and weak points are and give you a good basis on what to study first and most, especially if you do not have much time to study.

No I havent yet cause i glanced over the bio section realized that I have forgotten a lot of details about things like krebs cycle, glycolytic pathway, gluconeogenesis.. but you are right, I'll start with a practice test right now.

Haha that was my EXACT same problem when I took the practice test...bio was way harder for me than I expected. But it is really helpful in the sense that it also shows you what sections you know decently and can more lightly review

bio really varies on the actual test tho. it fluctuated 30 points for me 😛

True. I just meant that the first time I sat down to study bio, the questions were more in-debth and difficult than I had anticipated (no idea why I thought it would be an easy section at the time)

I know! there is so much detail and i thought that after i was done with those classes i would never have to worry about learning that stuff again. 🙁
I'm just so stressed cause when I think about all the possible bio topics that they could test us on it freaks me out!!!! and i have such less time to study for it...

That's how I was too. One thing I found helpful was borrowing my roomate's Kaplan MCAT bio class book... I didn't read it, but I did go through and memorize all the mnemonics and memory tricks they provide - that was really helpful for test day! They have ones for all the different hormones, embryonic development, ect.

The OAT destroyer is great for bio. Make sure you review the solutions for each question, even the ones you get right and you'll relearn the info quickly. Worked for mee.
