I was hoping to find out what are the best approaches for each section of PAT. Maybe someone has a special method that works for them and can help the rest who need help including myself! 😳

Angles: I just found in this very forum that "Hill method" and "labtop method", created by one of you guys (which I think it's amazing) are working!

tfe: I look for the specific signs. Match the top of the end view with the side of the top view. Match the bottom of the top view with top of the front view. Is this the same as line counting? If not what is "line counting"?

Keyholes: First I look at the object and try to guess the answer without looking at the answer choices, and again look for the specific part of the object. It works for me. I usually get 15/15 in CDP. Who knows how I'll do in the real deal though!

Pattern folding: I have a tough time! I really hope that I get the correct answer every time I click! Have no idea what's the best way. Any one?

Cube Counting: 1st number the columns. Starting from one cloumn I mark down how many 1,2,3,4,5 shaded cubes are in each column and work my way through the rest, and then start answering each question for that object. (Kaplan method)

Hole punching: I draw a 4X4 table for each question and start opening the object in my head and put the holes down as I proceed. It works fine for me. I usually get 14/15 or15/15 for this section as well.

Does any one has a better/different approach to add? It would be really helpful🙂 Thanks.

ok.. i got a 19 on the PAT so I didn't do all that well but not too bad either... i will share with you my methods...

keyholes: first.. see if the object could from some angle fit into a really simple keyhole such as a simple square and if it can you can quickly choose that answer and move on. if not, look at the object and then look at the answers to see if there are similar ones, usually this can eliminate at least one, maybe two answers. I was getting 14/15 on CDP and I didn't think the real thing was any harder in this section so about the same level of difficultly

TFE: there is a great tutuorial on here that is called "my wicked sick PAT tutorial" do a search and listen to that guy it really helped... but yea basically look for little things they usually give it away, not really line counting (it doesnt work for all of them) but a method that uses line counting + mathcing up holes and dotted lines... anyways look at that tutorial and practive cdp for this.

Angles: I thought the angles were easy on my version, all you had to do was find the smallest and the largest and you had the answer. for a few i had to look really closely though like put my nose to the screen and try to do it that way... but you should really go fast through this section

hole punching: what a great section... so easy... if you can get 15s in cdp on this section you are waaaayyy over prepared, it was sooo much easier on the real thing. i like to draw the grids and just draw the shapes out.

cube counting: soooooooooo much easier than cdp so nothing to worry about here, your method looks good

pattern folding: ah, this is why i have the 19 and not a 20... i don't think i got any of these right on the test, i guessed on every last one... they were soooooooooo hard 🙁 so i have no advice for you here other than just make sure your rocking the other sections so that if you get a whole mess of these wrong you can still get a 19
