Hello future Doctors
What is the best source for Biostatistics review - I want to spend one day and master the subject for Step 1.
So far my choices are
Hi Yield Biostat
or
Appleton and Langes review of Epidemiology and Biostatistics

Any opinion on which one of these books is better or another book would be appreciated.

Thanks

I used FA and BRS behavioral science. Those 2 covered pretty much every question I saw whether in Uworld, NBMEs or the real deal.

FWIW the biostat section of BRS behavioral science was only like 15 pages or so. So, the depth of bio stats you need to know for the real thing isnt all that deep.

Just HY BS and FA. FA would have been sufficient, but another source might be good for more in depth explanation. Like the previous poster said, it's really not very difficult. If you can do the problems on the qbanks, you will be able to do the ones on step 1. There is really nothing tricky on there and on my test the calculations I needed to make were extremely easy (as in always coming out to an easy fraction like 0.5 or something like that).

I used HY. It is amazing, but it's gonna take you a couple of days to master it.

If you understand the question bank questions, you'll be fine. There is no book that is worthwhile for this subject imho. I read parts of the HY book... and it wasn't even as on target as USMLEWorld.
