Best book for Bio section

First off, I only got one genetics question on my DAT, so I can't speak from first hand. I also took a genetics class and felt very comfortable with the subject, but I had read about a lot of genetics questions like you did and heard that Campbell's biology book seventh edition was very good. I borrowed my friend's and read their sections on genetics and found it to be extremely useful. It not only reviewed the stuff from my genetics class well but it went over some technical stuff that I didn't know. You can get this book on amazon for pretty cheap too. Hope this helps

Campbell's AP bio, I knew everything from cliffs and only got about 5 questions from it. As far as genetics go know how to do dihybrid and monohybrid cross. Also know how to do the p squared + q squared =1 (henry-? equation).

Hardy-Weinberg Equation 😉

Could you elaborate on this point? Are you telling me that if you were allowed to take the biology section w. unlimited time open book with cliffs that you would only be able to answer 5 questions? I may be mistaken but i think i read your breakdown and you had a respectable bio score. Where did the other 35 questions come from and how could you have answered them using cliffs as a resource?

best bet for bio would be cliffs ap bio or use campbells biology to do a basic review try to get destroyer it does have a lot of genetics problems and couple that with kaplan subject tests i think that is the norm on this forum...best of luck

If we're talking about best book fro the bio section then I'd like to say I used Barron's and did well with it. I never used Cliff's, but Barron's prepared me very well. I only said Campbell's because you had asked about genetics specifically, and there are a lot of things in Campbell's on the technology of genetics that isn't in Barron's, leading me to assume it isn't in Cliff's either. But I could be wrong
