Hello all,

I have a question for you guys, especially for those of you who have successfully completed the DAT. For the general chemistry section of the test, is the Kaplan WB and BB enough for prep in order to get a good grade on that section of the test? (20+). The reason why I ask this is because I heard from some people that Kaplan was lacking in some areas. If those two textbooks aren't enough prep, then what would be the best book to purchase?

Thanks in advance!😎

Princeton does a good job with Gen Chem review and if you want to really get that high score you should go with the DAT destroyer. Look over other posts and see what people have said they have used for gen chem, specifically posts from people who have gotten good scores in Gen chem.

well i will be retaking my dats in late august and i can tell you G chem is one of my worst subject i got a 16 on that section last time and it was partly because i was memorizing questions from the preparation materials...BIG MISTAKE!!!! a lot of the questions are conceptual so you must understand the easy stuff before moving to the hard stuff.......i didnt score higher than 16 on achiever and topscore for this sections so what i'm doing now and its working for me is going thru barrons advanced placement for g chem....... some people think is overkill but for someone like me that has forgotten a lot of the basics is a must before moving to something harder like achiever or destroyer..... it has some mistakes but i like the book a lot....... it brakes down everything......and their section on factor labels and stoichiometry for me was worth the 17 bucks i paid for it......good luck
