Best EMR

Maybe worth considering: ECW, Athena, Prognocis
This is in terms of user experience, I’m not aware of what they charge currently.

I use ECW and like it. It’s about $800 a month for solo practice. Fairly intuitive as compared to Epic which I find difficult. It has PRISMA which trolls other EMRs for data. I can almost always get patient’s med rec through it, which saves time with old folks. They help you with MIPS and I assume will help with the Ambulatory model next year. Overall I’m fairly impressed with everything about it.
Second on eCW. It also has built in billing software. I find PRISMA useful as well as it often has information even epic careeverywhere doesn’t have. It is click heavy though and needs to be optimized.I use ECW and like it. It’s about $800 a month for solo practice. Fairly intuitive as compared to Epic which I find difficult. Ecw. I've used most of the others mentioned above
Anyone use modmed? I have no experience with it but my practice is apparently going to be switching from Athena to it sometime within the next year.
I've used ModMed for 5+ years in multi-specialty ortho group. Not bad, not great either. There is a new AI thing that is supposedly very impressive that is going live in March that hopefully will eliminate the need for scribe (if you have one) - will hopefullyfree up my LPN to do a lot of nurse tasks/phone calls.Anyone use modmed? Biggest complaint:
- Can be a lot of clicks/taps for whoever is doing the documentation. Can create protocols which handle a lot of the work though.
- No good way of tracking prior procedures - I have a work around but can be cumbersome.
Biggest compliment(s):
- Awesome at helping capture/maximize billing
- Simple visits or injection encounters (spine or joint) take 5 seconds to document/bill if you have a good protocol - i.e. my LPN can document ESI + run C-arm simultaneously and I sign note as soon as injection is complete and patient doesn't syncope on the way out of the room (haha).
- Fairly frequent updates that improve UI or speed up processes and seem to be responsive to requests for improvements that actually get implemented.
Ecw. We successfully navigated mips with their help. My wife is an elementary school teacher by training and she worked with the same person from eCW all year to do it.
we use ECW now, used to use Athena. I liked athena better but it was getting more expensive so we switched

For those who use ECW, does it have a good workflow for procedures? Start/stop. Pre/post vitals, etc? That seems to be the hangup for most of the EMRs we've been looking at.
NOT CERNER
I think its fine but ask others as their are many ECW users on hereFor those who use ECW, does it have a good workflow for procedures? Start/stop. Pre/post vitals, etc? That seems to be the hangup for most of the EMRs we've been looking at.

I dont think it does. What I do is macro/dotphrase my procedure note that goes in the procedure section. MAs will document vital signs pre/intra/post on paper, and then add it to the visit note flowsheet/vitals section. Its pretty quick and easy enough, but there isnt an integrated workflow that I found that was seamless. Grass is always greener though.
Same- macro with blanks to fill in pertinent pieces. “_____mg of (steroid) was injected” “____seconds of fluoroscopy was used and ___images saved.”I dont think it does. On another note, any suggestions for cost effective in office fluoro and RFA generators? Are most people going with refurbished units?

I’ve done a few demos and narrowed down to e clinical works and practice fusion. Anyone have comments on practice fusion? It is the cheaper option
Practice Fusion is simple, can create dot phrases and templates easily. The billing with Practice Fusion is terrible as they purchased a 3rd party company and have not figured out how to integrate it into their system. We currently bill through Kareo/Tebra. Working on switching to Tebra for EMR, but it seems to be way to click heavy.
Can you save a few images for a procedure in practice fusion?Practice Fusion is simple, can create dot phrases and templates easily. would yall use Epic through CommunityConnect from a hospital system or ECW?
Depends on the price.would yall use Epic through CommunityConnect from a hospital system or ECW?
CHCS
Looks almost as bad as old school Meditech
The premise of the thread is wrong. All EMR's suck. You need to find the one that sucks the least.
You can upload them in the documents section and attach the images to an encounter. Can you save a few images for a procedure in practice fusion?
