Best Hematopathology Fellowship program

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
UT Southwestern, duh. 😎

Okay, now that I got that out of my system . . .

It probably depends heavily on the applicant's personal situation and career goals. Having said that, there are several well known places that you probably couldn't go wrong with. These would include, but are not limited to, institutions that have faculty whose name(s) appear(s) on the WHO book and other standard hemepath textbooks.

I have to put a plug into the University of Arizona. Not heavy on the research side (though certain faculty have very active labs), if thats what you're interested in, but the atmosphere and training are as good as it gets

Stanford, Cornell, UCSF, City of Hope..

MGH, NIH, U of Pitts, Standford, U of NM and Hopkins are all very good programs.

LOL at this thread.

What about University of Chicago, wouldn't it be up there with one of those. Those two famous guys are there.

Oh, come now. Don't pretend like the OP's question can't be answered with unwavering objectivity. 🙄

Absolutely. And we're obviously a representative and unbiased sample here on SDN's path forum. These threads are obnoxious. They serve very little purpose. I have no problem with threads that say, "I want to train in X. My career goals are Y. What are some of the ideal training options for me?" But these "who's the most awesome __?" or "where's the super greatest __ fellowship?" are just silly.

No they're not depending on how you measure training. At NIH all you will see is referral crap and just because you will be Jaffe's shorterm minion doesnt mean you will emerge as an everyday functional pathologist who can practice efficiently within the realm of practical reality without 10,000 esoteric stains at your disposal.

I think the CoH fellowship died.

In fact Im positive it did. CoH staff lost their lawsuit in CA Superior Court and basically imploded as a result.

Regardless, you can get good training at alot of places so I would pick a place you would happy at...San Diego maybe? I know I would be.

Chillin in the gas light district chatting up a bunch of coeds after work at happy hour sounds marvelous..
