Best Immunology Review Book

Hey guys

I used the search function but didn't get much out of what came up.

What Immuno review book would you guys say is best to simultaneously study for an Immuno class and to prepare for the Step 1? Rapid Review? BRS? Ridiculously Made Simple?

I have FA already but it seems too general for my class. Thanks guys!!

i liked part 7 of Levinsons' Review. ~80 pages and more than enough. you can read it for free if your school has AccessMedicine.

How The Immune System Works.

This book is golden. It's fairly short and written in simple language. The author does a really good job IMO. A classmate recommended it to me and I believe it was also recommended by a few other students on SDN.

Can anyone else recommend a good immunology review book for Step 1? I've heard that FA + UWorld is enough, but our school barely taught us immunology at all.

Ditto - it was basically all I studied and have recommended it to several people. I heard Immunology made simple sucked.

+1 - easy read; refreshing and light after some of the other very dry and godawful texts we have to read

The problem I had with a lot of courses was that they'd jump into CD40, CD28, CD3 and what connects to what, without really explaining WHY or where they even came from. Throw in a few greek symbols and I was like what is going on, but now I understand.

It's a thin enough book you'd should be able to read through it in no time. I'm planning to read another immunology textbook now with a basic foundation thanks to How the Immune System Works. I wish there were more books like this one for other subjects.

Definitely! For micro I liked the "made ridiculously simply" book a lot; like you said about the immuno book, it didn't just spew info at me but actually walked my dummy brain through the conceptual stuff. Unfortunately I got the cardiovascular book from the same series and it's not nearly as good.
