Best Journal/Subscription?

I am about to jump into E-med as a new grad PA and one of my contract perks is one included subscription, I have been getting Emergency Medicine News as a perk to my membership in Society of E-Med PA's, anyone have opinions or recommendations about the various journals?

While not a journal in the sense you probably meant, I highly recommend EMRAPs. It's an audio series that is perfect for residents.

The really good news is that a subscription to it is free for EMRA members. As an EM resident, you really should be a member. If you're program doesn't include membership, I'd highly recommend joining on your own. You also get EMAbstracts, another audio series that does a great job of following literature relevant to EM.

If you don't have much use for audio programs, I'd take a look at Critical Decisions in EM from ACEP and Evidence Based Practice in Emergency Medicine. Both monthly series that are outstanding.

You'll get Annals of Emergency Medicine with your ACEP membership (you really should join) and Academic Emergency Medicine if you join SAEM.

For keeping up on new stuff and generally learning about cutting edge EM, I highly suggest Emergency Medicine Journal Watch (jwatch.org). They report on EM-related articles in more journals than you can think of reading. Also their, First Watch specialty based news alerts (free) are also highly worth it.

I agree with Jeff. EMRAP is a winner, and it's format/niche is unconventionally cool and interesting.
