Best MA in Mental Health Counseling Programs in NYC?

Any opinions? I've learned a lot about doctoral programs, but don't find as much info out there on master's programs.

So far NYU, Brooklyn-CUNY, & Fordham seem strong (from websites, looking at faculty, practicum opportunities.)

Hi, Those are good programs. I went to Columbia for the EdM/MA in counseling psych. I didn't love the program culture or the faculty but it is a well regarded program in terms of the training they provide. But it's VERY expensive...

thanks for your input!

i was going to use these programs as backup (if i don't get into a PsyD or PhD) programs. but now that i think of it, it seems like most people in this track are using it as a "final destination," that is, to become a mental health counselor. i'd be using it as a "stepping stone" on the way to a doctorate. (i'd choose that degree vs a regular Psych Master's b/c i already have a BA in Child Development & many psych courses.) w/ all the internship hours required, etc, it may not make sense for me. thoughts?
