Yay!! So I scheduled my interview for UMaryland today, but now that means I can't just think about the interview, I actually have to prepare. And I actually have to go buy a suit. So my question for the ladies (or anyone who would know) is: where do you go to get a good suit? Would any department store do? Or is there a specific store like Banana Republic, etc, that has the best suits for women? From what I've read Express and The Limited don't sound like my best bet. Any help with this would be much appreciated! Thanks!

casual corner, petites sophisticate, and there's the other one that's for plus size (i think it's augutus max) they're all one company...

BR's nice too, and if you pay full price they'll do alterations for you for free... (but pretty expensive)

as long as the suit looks and fits and feels right... that's all that matter...try to stick to something conservative... and make sure if you do skirt suit that it's knee lenght or longer... and no more than 2 inch heels for shoes 🙂

good luck hope this helps 🙂

I bought my suit from the Limited and it is conservative and affordable.

Hmm, alright, so I guess there's not one special place to get a suit. And affordable is good. But now my concern is with shoes. I love shoes, but it pains me to look at the most conservative pairs. Can I get away with the teensy weensy open toed kind? Or what about a square toe but with a slingback? My life won't end if I can't get something I personally like, but if I can, I'd rather have shoes with just a smidgen of style. hehe, it's one of the few things I'm definitely a girl about 😛

HI GUYS,

I WORKED FOR A MEN'S RETAIL STORE FOR 9 YEARS AS A WARDROBE CONSULTANT. I THINK THAT I CAN HELP MOST PEOPLE IN THIS AREA.

LOOK FOR A STORE CALLED K&G (ONLY IN SOME STATES). THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET YOUR SUIT AT SINCE THEIR PRICES ARE MORE THAN REASONABLE (99-200). THEIR SHIRTS AND TIES SELECTION SUCK AND YOU DON'T GET MUCH HELP.

IF THERE IS NO K&G, THEN LOOK FOR "THE MEN'S WEARHOUSE". 800-777-SUIT. I WORKED FOR THEM FOR 9 YRS. THEY HAVE A GOOD SELECTION OF EVERYTHING, BUT YOU WILL BE HELPED BY A SALES MAN AND THEY WILL TRY TO SELL YOU AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. HOWEVER, ONCE YOU KNOW YOUR SIZES JUST ASK THEM TO GET LOST AND YOU LOOK YOURSELF. LOOK FOR ANY SUITS IN THE 250 AND UP RANGE. DON'T BOTHER WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN 250. IT WON'T LOOK GOOD AND THE FABRIC IS NOT AS GOOD, UNLESS YOU GET LUCKY.

HOPE THIS HELPS AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED MORE INFO.
