Can any current Pods or students please suggest some volunteer organizations that would be best for a pre-DPM? I am not at college anymore so do not have access to any lists. Thanks a lot.

I was involved in the special olympics and learned (later on) that has a "healthy athletes" division of medical and therapuetic personnel for the athletes. The Fit Feet division (more for Podiatric Sports Medicine) is a big part of any SO event. You don't treat, it's more of a screening, awareness, and fun examination for the athlete, coach, and family members and really brings attention to the profession. Dr. Pat Nunan (Cincinnati) got to speak to the Governator (Arnold), Tim Shriver (CEO, and part of the kennedy family), Colin Ferrell (yeah, the Irish Actor), and a bunch of other celebrities about Podiatric Medicine/Sports Medicine and it's benefit to the athlete with special needs. I've been privileged to have done events in Chicago, Toronto, and the world games in Shanghai, China.
