St Francis guide is good for rotations, so is current clinical strategies. Blueprints is good for the exam. I also read Kaplan and Saddock during my rotation, but I already had the book from first year.
Blueprints is pretty good and a quick read. I would say BRS is overall more complete. Do not bother with Kaplan and Sadock...it is way to much. I think Appleton and Lange question book was a good representation of the type of questions and difficulty you'll encounter on the exam. When I was a student, I read BRS and the A&L question book and did very well on the shelf exam...
