Hey folks.

With applications for next cycle just opening, I'm trying to find the best way to get some validation that I'm structuring my app right and that I'm not making any critical errors. I haven't been going into it completely blind so far -- I've had awesome friends and mentors throughout -- but I've definitely exhausted their collective time and familiarity with applying non-traditionally.

What I'd like to get your thoughts on is: what are the best resources to prepare an application? Online? Paid consultants? Other?

For me, I'm especially concerned with where to apply (e.g., I discovered a bit roundabount, not through MSAR, that my alma mater's med school doesn't accept older prerequisites...that changed my vision quite a bit) along with communicating my experiences and primary statement. For context: I'm older (30s) and coming from a career as veteran (Navy officer) and tech management (FAANG).

Any insights or thoughts on what has worked for you and what is out there would be amazing. Thanks for your time!

We have experts (including military folks) and many willing volunteers here who can do a lot of service for free. Becoming a Student Doctor also provides more insight for application essays and interview prep. It is self-guided, but more than genAI transactional answers. You need human eyes to make sure the generic advice can be adapted to your needs. You can pay a ton of money if you need more discipline or have a specific challenge that you need special assistance with.

Awesome. I kinda sensed that was the vibe here. Thanks for sharing your resources.
