Hi all guys,
what are the best materials, especially self study books,to ace step 2 CK.I have been hearing of titles like Crush step2,Blueprint series,Current medical diagnosis and treatment. So what are the best ones in your opinion?
Thanks a lot for all your help and good luck to everyone studying to take the boards, hang on! :luck:

First, it depends if you are IMG or USMG. I'm an IMG who will use Kaplan Step 2CK, MKSAP, Boards and Wards, and whatever question source I can get my hands on. My lesson from Step 1 is to LIMIT your sources. If you're USMG, I think they study only 3 weeks, so the books you mentioned are probably good, plus do questions. I think IMG's need an extra month of preparation. IMO...good luck. 👍

i second this advice...if i learned anything from my crappy step 1 score, it was first to limit your books to step 1 pertinant review material and second to do as many questions as humanly possible. do NOT try to relearn material you already know. simply learn to apply your knowledge to USMLE style questions.

if you have to learn something from scratch do it seperately from your USMLE prep.

by the way, my step 2 prep is knowing boards and wards as well as crush step 2 cold and doing all the practice questions i can get (mksap, qbank, nms, a&l, mock exams, etc...)

during my rotations i used blueprints on the smaller ones and larger texts for IM and surg. so, now i am mostly reviewing the high yeild stuff in the above review books and fine tuning based on the results of my question blocks.
