I tend to get better results with Coolief at the ASC. I have an Abbott standard RF in office whereupon I tend to have worse results.

Recently looked at Stryker (venom) generator who claims to have a larger lesion than Coolief. What are you guys using and what is your experience?

You absolutely do not want to use venom’s in your office. The electrode only deploys our the port about 50% of the time and the needles are $30 each.

Get the new MDT machine. The lesion size is comparable to venom, no side port to deal with, and $10 needles.

Cosman, rarely had issues. In fellowship they had recently switched from striker and everyone much happier.

thoughts on new coolief kits?,

2/4 defective so far here, and cumbersome

Honestly I’ve had pretty good results with Coolief.

Patients have had great outcomes on geniculate and SIJ ablations

Agree with this. We have Stryker now. 2 of my partners use Venom. My other partner and I do not. I just think it’s such a waste. We finally got around to doing a cost analysis and it’s unreal the money we’re flushing down the toilet with Stryker. Going to do a 1 day trial with Medtronic and Abbott. But likely will end up with Medtronic and I can go back to using 16G for my lumbars.

Neurotherm with the cheapest needles they make. Plain Jane 18g needles for lumbar and 20g cervical.

According to the other post about new rfa guidelines, they mention bigger is better. Specifically list nimbus, coolief, and rf trident.

Although the new Medtronic generator can do cooled rf as well.

Stryker Venom always deployed properly for me. Are you lining up the probes with the needle correctly?

I loved my Venoms, but they are ridiculously expensive. I have a new Cosman, and it's amazing. Much quicker and better programming. Besides, the black RF needles are slick as hell.

Yes. They are in their 5th year of use. That may be a factor. They are durable. We still have 11/12 electrodes.

Plus cosman has needles that work kind of like the venoms don’t they? No new probe needed.

We are currently borrowing a neurotherm gen in our office. Getting tricky to schedule my RF's as it sometimes does not make it back to our office in time despite a lot of planning. I am thinking of buying and was approached by Diros. Has anyone used/ heard of them?

Saw Diros at ASRA. I believe they are based out of Canada. I’m not convinced that their sales division has their SH-t together. I’ve reached out to them twice and haven’t heard from them. So I don’t know how reliable they are.
