Hi all,

Just wanted to know: Which schools are most favorable to out of state residents? I only have one school in state and its UWash, so my chances aren't great to get in there.

if u search in the forums..u'll find it...im too lazy typing out 125 medical schools

if ur too lazy..buy a MSAR and pick schools that admit 20% or higher OOS students.

Here's a short list of ones I've heard are good to apply to out of state:

-New York Medical College
-Tulane
-St Louis University
-Loyola
-Albany Med School
-George Washington
-Georgetown
-Medical College of Wisconsin
-Drexel
-Thomas Jefferson
-Temple
-VCU
-EVMS

I'm sure others will have more to add! Also, look at the spreadsheet at the top of the what are my chances thread and it has the number of out of state applicants interviewed and accepted...very helpful

Private schools are going to be the most friendly for you. State schools in small and largely rural states (i.e. mississippi, louisiana, arkansas) are probably not going to even look at your application even if you had a 4.0/45, since they exist to train physicians they think will stay in the state. Your best bet for picking oos-friendly state schools, like others said, would be the MSAR.

Try most of the private schools. I have listed some publics that I think are friendly to OOS people.

SUNY Downstate
University of Illinois
Indiana
Ohio State
University of Minnesota

Long Shots: the California schools (UCs)

You forgot about the DO school in Yakima (Pacific NW University of Health Sciences, I think?)
