Best Social Science Courses, especially for MCAT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For these classes I'd imagine the intro classes will be sufficient. You don't take immunology, for example, to prepare for the biological sciences part of the MCAT. Of course, I've found my upper-division social sciences classes to be very relevant to medicine, so I would advise you to take some of those in addition to the intro classes if you have the time.

Based on what the AAMC has published about the new MCAT the social science section comes off as being a subject specific verbal reasoning section. However that said, and as someone with a psych degree, beyond Intro to Soc and Intro to Psych I would suggest a Social Psych and a Cognitive/Neuropsych course. Depending on the school an upperlevel Cog/Neuro class could be a bitch but any level Social psych class should be doable.

I'm a freshman now, but I'm registering for courses soon and I've got some room for social science classes. What types of classes would be helpful for me, especially for the future MCAT? I see there will be sociology on it, but I honestly have no idea what that is or how it could be tested. Should I take a general Sociology class, or would I be ok with only taking a more specific "Sociology of Healthcare" since that would be more interesting to me? Also, what might be some good psychology courses (Developmental, pathology, etc)?

I'll meet with my adviser soon, but I'd like to get some ideas first.

Thanks!

Cognitive pysch, social psych, and child development were 3 that I found quite enjoyable.
