I am sure this has been a thread at some point. What headphones do you guys reccommend for studying in? Currently studying for my Step 1s and want a nice pair of headphones for the library (which is packed with other ppl studying). If you guys can give a brief description/personal reviews as well for ex. Bose qc15 are noisecanceling, etc

Thanks.

i got a pair of "Shure" at the apple store. can't hear a damn thing with those things in and they are bud earphones so no need to carry about those big Bose ones. I paid about a 100 or so bucks. I study with earplugs in though. Can;t study for step with music in my opinion.

yeah thats why i was considering noise cancelling, some headphones offer the feature without having to play music so u can just silence out the outside and get focused in

A few years ago, I stumbled across a nice Bose set on clearance for $20 at Guitar Center. I've been using those headphones ever since. The sound is amazing, but they're not as comfortable as they look.

If I were to buy new headphones today, I'd focus more on comfort than anything else. I find that if I've been studying with headphones for a couple of hours, I start to get a bit sweaty and just generally annoyed, and then I'm tempted to take off the headphones and do something else.

sounds like a good deal, i dont mind spendin an extra few bucks for a nice set of headphones especially since its sort of a long term investment (prob use em for shelfs step 2s etc and of course listening to music)

bose noice canceling, work very nice, plus if you're studying and someone says something you can hear it. Does a great job supressing background noise

yes the qc-15, we can even use them during tests. they cost a little but worth every penny

Bose QC 15 are what I rock -- theyre SO GREAT -- one of the best electronics purchases I've made in the last 2 years

I have a pair of Shure SE535's that I study with and I can't hear a thing even in Starbucks. I used to have Shure SE210's, which are much cheaper than the 535 with pretty much identical noise cancelation. You can probably get the SE215's for about $125 now.

Bose QC15 are among the best noise canceling head phones, but the sound quality is nothing compared to quite a few headphones in the price range. I've got my eye on a pair of Shure SRH940's that have decent noise cancelation and much better sound quality than the QC15s.

Klipsch S4 image are also very nice. Cheap, great sound quality, and very comfortable. The ear buds are also slightly noise muffling.

The only reason I stopped using them is because I was gifted a pair of Bose QE 15s, which are great for sound cancellation. I'd still say the Klipsch are superior on sound quality though, despite being about 25% the cost of Bose.

yea QC 15 sound quality for music is a bit disappointing but the noise cancelling is the best

Anybody have any thoughts regarding which headphones are the most comfortable?
