Maan, I want to live in San Diego. Maybe I'll specialize in Angel Therapy!

Well, good to know at they're not APA accredited...

I like the blurb at the bottom of the program's website that talks about licensing, and mentions that it's up to the individual students to determine if they're license-eligible outside of CA.

Although what's perhaps more upsetting is that they are license-eligible in CA.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Geneva, sans-serif]Sand Tray Therapy, another one of her empirically supported therapies she's using! Brilliant...

In the words of Charlie Sheen: "Duh, Winning!"

Of course, her status as an ordained minister is most impressive.

Sand Art Therapy! Where do I sign up for that?

This person's "training" is exactly what is wrong with the field.

*edit* Darn...markp beat me to the Sand Art Therapy.

from one of their faculty members. I thought it odd for a dude with a phd in physics from princeton to be a faculty member. so I clicked on the link. answer = he's nuts.

Sadly, I have seen this guy's stuff before. I came across one of his publications and thought I'd look him up. Reading through his work is uhm....odd.

It is indeed her most impressive credential. http://www.themonastery.org/ordination

She may have even scraped together the $13.99 needed to receive an honorary religious title of her choosing.

Please note that the link I posted is not a joke, and is actually the organization where she was "ordained", as advertised on her website. Now to be fair, she DID have to spell her own name AND email address correctly in order to do it, which is probably more than CIHS expects for applicants to their doctoral program.

I dunno, I know people who use sand tray therapy (who are very research-based people) and they love it.

I don't know about sand tray therapy specifically, but play therapy as a whole has decent empirical support. Unfortunately, though, I think play therapy tends to attract some fairly, um, non-evidence-based people by it's nature, but it also attracts a fair share of good, research-driven clinicians as well.

It may be the best thing since sliced duck, but a quick search for evidence and clinical trials suggests that the evidence to support it's efficacy is lacking. I am not saying it doesn't work, however does it work better than the Chakra work or the Prana Cleansing is my question?

Finally, Prana cleansing to address my chronic bipolar disorder. 😉

Does she do Chromotherapy? You can actually get certified in this modality and there is a year long training program.

And people were flipping out about the life coaches in the other thread. This is equally as ridiculous and I am sure her fees are ridiculous as she takes cash only.

the sad part is that she is probably raking in the $$$$$. Especially in La Jolla. *sigh*

Very unlikely. Trust me, I'm in PP and this sort of thing does not sell. The great thing about the free market is that it works; in general ppl pay for what works.
