Hey guys,

I know it is best to fill out the Fafsa as soon as possible but how late can a first timer hold out filling out the fafsa without placing themselves at a disadvantage in receiving scholarships and other institutional grants. Thanks y'all.

If would depend on each school. Some schools wait until late summer to do anything. Others give scholarships on a 'rolling' basis. Do it when you can...soon after you get your W-2's and 1099's.

As soon as possible.
Also check on ur state's deadline that way u dont miss gettin money from them. Federal deadline is June 30 or so.
Did u get ur green card yet? Even if u dont get it for a few more months, and get it b4 june, u can stil file ur fafsa

They accept application as of Jan 1 of each year....so best to apply ASAP....want to maximize your benefit!!!
