Hey Guys,

So I am going to be a Junior this coming school year, and I wanted to take the DAT sometime in 2014. I am kinda stuck on when the best time would be to take it. Preferably, I would like to take it in January, however, I will be taking Biochemistry, Physics I and Cell Biology this semester, and I will be going on a dental mission trip in January which may disturb my studying. If I were to take it in June after the school year is over, I worry that if I were to not do well, I won't have enough time to retake it in order to apply that year. Do you all have any suggestions? Thanks!

I agree that it will probably be rough trying to study while taking those classes but can probably start once Fall is over. You are probably better off taking an easier Spring and studying then and taking it sometime during that semester. If you want to retake you must wait 90 days so you can still take it again during the Summer if need be while submitting an early application. Of course it is not up to me but that is how I would approach it.

You can just take the DAT in June/July. If a retake is necessary, send in your AADSAS application and also take the DAT in September/October.

If I could go back I would take it in feb....I would study throughout the winter break and into the first few weeks of spring semester.

Go ahead and take it on the last day of your winter break. If you don't do well you can always give it again in summer.

Thank you all for your advice! I think I will shoot for February as well, especially since the workload will be minimal the beginning of spring semester. If that does not go as well I would of wanted, I'll just aim to retake it in June/July.
