best way to apply for a pharmacy clerk retail

Should i walk in the store, ask for the pharmacy manager, greet myself, ask to see if there is a job opening available...

and if they do, ask for an application and give them my resume

and if they dont, ask to see if there are any stores around this region that might be hiring

or does anyone have any better way, i am gonna go job hunting today

I would add one small thing, talk to them about your desire to be a pharmacist up front. It is likely that they will spend a bit more time to at least talk over your desires.

I did just that and it worked for me last year. 😀 Someone was leaving in a couple months so they told me that I could fill in their place. I gave them a resume and a cover letter ( just in case.. but i think it was too extreme). When i asked my pharmacist, I found out she never looked at either or.

My other friend who works at Sav-ons, ( i work at Rite aid), told me that even if they don't have any openings, it's good to express that you have cashier/retail experience ( if you do).

i agree that you should say you wanna be a pharmacist- it makes a big difference. whatever you do, though, don't give up! i had to go through 11 pharmacies before i found a position last year.

Basically, SELL YOURSELF to the customer, in this case the pharmacist. The same type of attitude you would show your patients (customers) is the same way you want to show yourself to your prospective employer (in a professional way). Be direct (straight to the point), know what you want (a Pharmacy Technician job since I am persuing a long-term career goal of becoming a pharmacist), and prove you deserve the position (I am currently at Univercity of ______ and taking my prereq. classes so I can start pharmacy school in the year 2008, and I currently have a 3.5 gpa. Additionally, I just completed my certification in becoming a Pharmacy Technician).

I am not saying use all of this, just be yourself, be dedicated to your profession, and be willing to be dedicated to your employer. If you and the employer find matches on these things, you are likely in a very good environment. Good luck!
