I am trying to find a program for my pc that I can keep track of what i need to do each day as well as write down deadlines for assignments, tests, etc. I tried using Microsoft calendar and Microsoft Outlook, but I really dont like the set-up of either of them. Anyone have a good suggestion for a program to use, preferably free?

I 'use' iCal, but I honestly like the feeling of having a real paper and pen calendar that I can write on better. As sexy as calendar software is (and, believe me, it is) I find that the paper calendar works for me, and so I live with that.

I am faithful to Microsoft Outlook only because I can easily synchronize my blackberry calendar with it. However, I have heard good things about Google's Calendar.

I use google calendar synced to my phone, and have a sticky on my google desktop with important reminders.

I use Mozilla Sunbird. Free and easy to use... I love the interface, personally. I double click on a day to add an event, I can add alerts, email reminders, etc. I would never get anything done without it.

I tried keeping a schedule online, but I found it to be less convenient than just having a datebook. It never failed that at the exact moment when I needed to be jotting down the time and place for a meeting, my computer was off without time to turn it on...I ended up scribbling on some piece of paper I later was scrambing to find. Paper is just more versatile, in my opinion.

I LOVE iCal... but I, too, am one of those people
