I'm going to be taking my boards soon and I was wondering if anybody had a good way of studying. I bought the O'Sullivan book, which is very detailed and not sure about the best way to study for this exam.

This is what I did.
1. Take a sample test. 2. Review the answers and go over areas that were average and weak. 3. Repeat.
I took five sample tests and passed the Boards on my first try. I studied for about 3 weeks. I used Scorebuilders to study and 3 of their tests. I also purchased the two PEAT samples tests from the federation. Are you taking it next week? Good luck!

I guess I shouldn't have written soon, but I may be taking it in July or October. I'm just really nervous about the exam and wanted to at least start looking over some material to feel a little bit better about taking it. Thank you for your advice, I will definitely try that. I know the tests vary, but what material did you feel you were tested the most on?

This is what I plan on doing! I'm going to spend at least 6 weeks studying the material however. I heard at least 4-6 weeks was good, but I guess that depends on how much you study everyday. How long did you study each day if you only did it for 3 weeks?

The breakdown of the exam is given to you on the FSBT website and it is accurate. You pretty much gotta be familiar with everything taught in school and clinicals. A good way to measure your readiness is scoring 75% or above on the practice tests. I studied 3-4 hrs per day/5-6 days per week for 3 weeks. I think hardcore studying before taking the sample tests is not that useful. You are better off taking one sample test first to get a baseline of what you know and then take it from there.

Hello,

I am also planning on taking the exam in October and kind of looking for a study buddy even if its online. Most of my classmates are done taking it and working. I graduated 2010 but had to move to Europe because I got married and now we are planning to move back to States so started studying. I had a long break so making me a bit nervous. I am using Giles and O'Sullivan books.

Any suggestions on studying?
