A question from BC asks:

"Pancreatic beta cells secrete insulin into the body. Which organelle would you expect to be heavily expressed in beta cells?"

The answer is golgi apparatus

Can someone explain this question? I'm having trouble "integrating" the info together..

Thanks in advance

That question tripped me up too. The connection the BC explanation made between the packaging of proteins by the golgi and the fact that insulin is a peptide hormone helped it click for me

Can you explain more?
If the question is still the same, the answer choices should be

Nucleus, Golgi apparatus, Mitochondria, Lysosomes, or Flagella.

Right away you should be able to say Golgi is the answer knowing the main functions of the other choices don't fit in with the details of the question.
The answer is golgi since the question mentions secretion and knowing that golgi app functions to modify and package proteins for secretion. So cells that secrete hormones will likely have high expression of Golgi app.
