ok, here's the deal. right now, i live in chicago. Eventually, i want to live in california. does anyone know whether its easier or not to get a residency in cali if i go to med school there, or is it just as difficult if i were to stay in chicago? Thanks ahead of time.

this is all heresay so i don't know how valid it is, but it's my understanding that going to school in cali gives you a bit of an advantage for cali residencies, especially if you can get your foot in the door as a med student...

having connections is one of the biggest factors, whether that is from going to med school that catiers to the residency or something else, that is a big factor.

beyond that, its numbers.

look at the residencies you would most likely consider. where did the residents all come from?? the places ive looked at have varied greatly...
