Been doing a few searches on these forums, but I'm only coming across salaries. Salaries being lower in major cities isn't a secret. However, how about job availability? Would you be able to find a position in places like Manhattan, if you're willing to take a substantial pay cut?

Uhhh what? First year research tech pays 33k in NYC and about 2/3 of that from where I'm from.

It depends on the specialty. Generally the answer is yes, you can find something if you're willing to take a pay cut.
