I'm in a dilemma right now.. I have a AA in DH and was thinking about either finishing up with a BS in DH or BS in Biochem. A completion degree in BS DH will probably take me another 1-1.5 vs 3-? years for Biochem. Will dental schools look at what BS degree you have or do they consider all BS the same and just look at the gpa?

The particular degree is not as important as long ad you have successfully completed he required prerequisites. If you can, take some recommended courses like anatomy which can showcase your ability to handle upper level science courses.

My plan is to do complete my upper division courses for my BS online while taking my pre-reqs at a CC. I know most schools recommend taking upper division Bio courses but will my upper division courses in DH count (300+ course #)?

All courses may "count", but let's keep in mind that some of the courses you speak of may be easily distinguished from the real McCoy.

I'm sure they will count, but it can't hurt to have some basic science upper level classes, like microbiology, immunology or anatomy/physiology; these are just some of the examples of coursework that are highly recommended. If you have some overlap in coursework with your DH program, then all the better.

Oh, and I just wanted to raise the point that some dental schools like Tufts won't accept your prerequisites if they were completed at a community college. Just prepare in advance which schools you want to apply to.
