Big envelopes for secondaries?
Started by hallucinated
Should I send these snail-mail secondaries in large envelopes or small regular envelopes?
doesn't matter. i've been using the big ones because i suck at folding.
I'd send them in the big envelopes so you don't have to fold anything. I'm sure it doesn't matter which you choose, but the big envelope just keeps things neater.

i do the half size manila envelopes (9 x 6, i think). they're much studier and aren't as see-through as normal envelopes. i just have to fold my stuff in half.
cool thanks guys. i think i shud send small one for umdnj. it's a 2 page app.

ever.
now the adcoms know why people have been sending them in the big ones! everyone who has been sending in big envelopes are going to be ranked below the folding capable folks...
i can see it on SDN now "advice on the tri-fold technique for SOM secondary - HELP PLEASE NOW!!!!"

That sarcasm had a lot of bite to it...was it really necessary? 😛 Personally I did think it was the best response ever. 😛

i've been using priority mail (big white envelopes) with delivery confirmation, so that i know if my secondaries have actually been delivered. these envelopes are FREE, and priority mail (2-3 days) + deliv confirm costs $5.25 total....this won't hurt too bad since not many schools do snail mail secondaries.
don't use certified mail, though, b/c this requires a signature to accept a delivery, and the admissions staff / adcoms may get annoyed.

Back when I applied, I preferred 4' x 4' boxes full of packing peanuts.
MAKE them notice your application!

Just doing my part to bring SDN topics beyond "OMGz is NaTIOnal healthcARE going to make me p00r??/?"
And, oh, I got an invite from one of the schools that took my ugly, brown, ginormous packet. (Booyakashah.)

Nevadanteater? 😛 It makes me think you're from NV and went to UCI. LoL. This is only coming to me because I'm filling out UCI.
very good! it is true, i like my anteaters, hookers and gambling thank you very much...
let me know if you've got questions about uci (or pimping/poker).
not that many people see that it is two words for some reason...
Depends on how much stuff you need to send. Some schools just require like 1-2 sheets and a regular sized letter envelope is enough. While other schools (tulane) wants you to include your amcas application, so you have to use one of those larger ones.
The search button is an amazing thing that should be used more often.
