Alright, I am curious to what classes people took to complete their pre-req's for dental school. I understand that at most schools require a list of at least:

1 year biology w/ lab
1 year of inorganic chemistry w/ lab
1 year of organic chemistry w/ lab
1 year of physics w/ lab

These are, from what I have seen, the most common requirements at nearly all of the schools.

Also, a semester of microbiology is usually required at a few

So, the question is:
What are peoples' experiences/ideas reguarding the pre reqs and what other classes were taken to satisfy requirements? Did some of you do more/less?

HiDental Monst3r,
Many people who apply to dental school have bio degrees. Therefore, they have taken more bio courses than required.
What's your major?

im not in college at the moment, im still a senior in high school aspiring to become a dentist..

I also do not plan to take a major in bio or anything science related because I heard it was not important to do so.. therefore I will most likely major in something I like such as history, political science, or psychology.

im also going to a cal state, I just hope that doesn't hurt me

You have to take the standard classes

General Bio I & II
General Chem I & II
Orgo I & II
Physics I & II

Plus the corresponding labs.. Its not like you can take Plants and an Evolution class and call it a year of biology (even though they both may be biologys)... To the best of my knowledge anyway

For me, once I finished all that I was 1/2 to my bio degree.

at every school the name of the course will be different.. I don't see how this is useful to you.. just take first year biology, first year chemistry, basic organic chemistry, first year physics etc.... this is the most logical way to fill your prereqs.
I don't see how this necessitates worrying in any way..

it's not like there's a way to take political science 101 and have it count towards organic chemistry.. there are no tricks...

To be exact, for example, the General Bio I & II is a course taken in a period of 2 semesters, right? As in Bio I is a 1 semester class?

Yep, that's right...
