I know pathology is number one obviously but i dont know if things have changed for the other subjects. How would you rank the subjects in order of importance/highest yield, especially for you recent test takers. I would like to begin focusing my studies based on my weaknesses and what is the best use of my time/highest yield. Thanks

I'm taking the test in two weeks...so I can't say from experience...but from what I have heard from 3rd yrs:

1. Path
2. Pharm
3. Phys
4. Micro/Immuno
5. Biochem, Anatomy, Embryo, Neuroanatomy (all about 2-3% each)

my test had a ton of path and physio, with the question describing a pathological condition and the answers having to do with physio...so you had to know both to get the answer...i had tons of theses

Thanks! Were there any people that had any of the other random topics disproportionately represented in relation to these top 4? i.e. more anatomy than micro, or more biochem/mol. bio than pharm?

I took the exam yesterday and had one block with a ton of neuro. I also heard others say they had a lot of cell/molecular. Good Luck!

I heard that is similar to how they test histology. They will describe a pathological condition/disease and give you a picture with letters and you have to pick out the tissue. For example, they will describe pheochromocytoma and show a picture of an adrenal gland. As Goljan would say, even if you know the disease you are still screwed because of these "2 for 1" questions.

Boards people love these 2 for 1 questions because they are testing more than one subject/concept at once.
