Did you try doing a search? Here on SDN, on Google, in the medical literature?
Do you have a surgery textbook? Or Surgical Recall?
Almost every surgical text will talk about biliary drainage, and routes, indications, complications, etc.
i tried searching on Google, even here 🙄
on Google: i couln't find it in one thread
& i dunno how many they are!!!
here: i didn't find anything 🙁
& i have that big text book: Bailey & Love's Short Practice of Surgery
also nothing!!!
🙁🙁
Bailey and Love's is not a comprehensive textbook (as noted in its title); it leaves a lot of more complicated stuff out. I'm sure your medical library has many others which discuss biliary drainage. Look for Greenfield, Cameron, Schwartz and Schwartz, etc.
Google is not a first line resource either. You'll need to check the Cochrane database (since I assume you to be a foreign students) or Medline for resources that discuss biliary drainage procedures. However, when I do a Google search I come up with several pages that discuss the procedure - albeit usually for laypeople; but journal articles are also listed which can be found at your medical library. Here's one (first one that came up when I Googled "biliary drainage indications:" http://www.jvir.org/cgi/reprint/14/9/S243.pdf
i wouldn't consider SDN a reference
why don't you trying going to a library instead of asking others to do your work for you
thanks dear for your help & effort, & i apologize for taking part of your precious time 🙂😳
Bailey & Love's... It's name doesn't reflect how big it is 😀
I have Bailey and Love's on my shelf and am quite familiar with how big the text is. However, although it is nearly 1500 pages in length, it has sigificantly more white space and pictures than most other surgical texts and is not very detailed in its discussions, leaving a lot out.
Text length does not = comprehensiveness. Look at many of the longest posts here, mine included - they don't necessarily say much.
ummm!! 🙄 OK! 😀
"Current Surgical Diagnosis & Treatment" is on the way
i hope it'll help 🙂
thanks alot
