I currently don't do in-office UDS. I send them all out LC/MS, and get confirmed results in 2-3 business days (and can bill nothing).

It would be nice to have an immediate result, especially for new patients, and also be able to send the confirmation. I know for Medicare it's about breakeven, but for private insureres, might be worth it.

Is there any reason not to also do an in-office UDS and bill for it?

why is this posted in the public area?

is in-office UDS still being paid for? In my state, PA, several UDS companies are telling me it's on the patient as no insurance is paying for this.

Havent heard that. Are you certain?

I am not pain; but when I was prescribing suboxone therapy I would do the dipstick UDS myself and bill for it. I sent out only positives for confirmation.

I always send out for GC when doing dipsticks.

You can get quite a few false negatives with the sticks.
