This is what I came up with. Please clarify if I'm missing any important details.

First off, how many kingdoms are there? 4 or 6?

I have 1. Animalia, 2. Plantae, 3. Fungi and 4. Protista.....any other kingdoms?

Please define each and state what is in each exactly? Any Mneumonic devices to help memorize what's in each? Would the DAT be even that specific?

and Monera....5 kingdom system. May I make a suggestion? Do not use campbells for classification. Campbells uses the modern 8 kingdom/domain system (my edition is from 1999). Campbells will only confuse you...the ADA still uses the old ass outdated 5 kingdom system from 1970. A lot has changed since then...but whatever. For example...algae are no longer under kingdom plantae (some "newer" 5 kingdom systems have them has protists). The most difference has occured with protists. They were the red headed bastard children under the old 5 kingdom system...new classification schemes gives them more love and attention. If you insist on using campbells...animalia is still pretty much the same as the old system though.

Good sources for the 5 kingdom classification system are Cliff's AP Biology and Schaum's. Also, Destroyer classification questions provide a broad scope of the 5 kingdom system. Hope that helps.

Kings Play Chess On Green Sand (kingdom, phyla, class, order, genus, species) I find the mnemonic useful every now and then.

Dude, my Campbell's only has 3 Kingdoms possibly 4 with Protista, and it's the 4th Edition to beat.

Should I know what's in each Kingdom or is that unnecessary?

yes you should learn the Phylums in each kingdoms at least. every book differs in how they classify different kingdoms. Some will specify domain names such as archaebacteria, eubacteria and true bacteria while others will specify the five kingdom system which is monera, plant, animal, protists and fungi. I went ahead and learnt both types of classification systems. In my opinion it could only help because they changed the format of the DAT so you cant really know what to expect anymore.

The DAT format has really been changed now?

well by changed I really mean they have added new parts to certain sections like bio and math, while we continue to use outdated test prep materials like kaplan and whatever else which isnt all that effective.

for the QR, i'm reviewing my algebra, trig and geometry possibly some stats, but i'm going to pray that i won't get too many of those guys..

Whoops...forgot to mention that the Green Sand is FINE...haha.

EXPECT word problems and lots of them in addition to everything else you will be reviewing. You have to be able to get at least half of all the word problems correct to be able to score descent in the math section.

make sure you know all 5 kingdoms really well!!! digestion, excretion, circulation, nervous systems if any. Belive me the DAT loves to throw in classification and taxomy questions, they are a pain in the a#$ to memorize but at least you must know keay areas in the phylums......phylum chordata......subphylum vertebrata very important for DAT's ......anyways hope this helped

do phyla and subphyla only pertain to animals instead of bacteria and fungi and plants and protista?

edit: i mean for the dat.
