Any advice appreciated:

I have A's/B+'s in Math, Chem/Ochem. However I'm horrible in bio and my bio grades have been B, B+, C+ (it's my first and last C... had family stuff going on). The thing is - I'm a non science major [i'm environment health], so the main bio stuff was the grades I mentioned above 🙁. Anyways, will that prevent me from medical school? I can take other bio stuff at a CC, since I already graduated.

My total GPA 3.72/sci gpa 3.5ish... Maybe I can also make up with a good bio mcat score? any anecdotes 🙂?

It won't prevent you from medical school, but it might hinder your chances at top tier schools. I read somewhere that the Bio MCAT section is a good indicator on how well you'll do in med school. So study hard for the MCAT and you'll be fine.

that's fine, any MD school is good for me 🙂. Yep, I plan on getting at least a 11+ on the bio section, if studying goes well. thanks for the input!

I was a non-science major too, and graduated with a similar GPA breakdown. Used it as motivation to study for the MCAT, spent a summer studying, got a 15 on BS.

I've interviewed at 5 schools, been accepted into 2, and got waitlisted at a third. One of those was a top 10 school (since the issue of top-tier was mentioned)

I also spent a year doing research and other relevant stuff, but the thing to take away is that a lower sGPA, on its own, isn't going to keep you out of medical school
