non trad post bacc considering finishing my pre reqs for med school. In 2011-2012 I took bio and gen chem series and received As in all 4 classes + labs. I have not taken physics, ochem, and biochem.

If you were in my shoes would you retake gen chem and bio? I do need to improve my gpa a little (3.34 cum, 3.82 bcpm) but I don’t think taking these courses would actually improve my gpa. It would however show schools that I can handle recent coursework but I’d assume that taking the other pre reqs would show that anyway.

I would not retake bio and gen chem. Do well in physics chem and biochemistry along with taking some upper divisions like genetics and immunology

The programs I spoke to told me I needed to retake these courses. While it may seem like a waste of time, it wasn't. The courses were easy A's, but also served as nice primers to content review and getting my study habits back to snuff.

It is usually advised to take advanced coursework in your PostBacc and not to retake courses that you took as an undergraduate as you will not gain as much by retaking these courses as you would taking new advanced coursework. ADCOMs want to see academic growth, and to know that you are trying to expand your academic base prior to medical school. Go with the more rigorous coursework, and put everything you have into being successful.
