Ok in general when dental schools say 8 credits of biology do they mean 8 credits of general bio or do they mean 8 credits of biology in general? Example my school didn't require general bio as a prereq for biochemistry which was 5 credits. So do these 5 bio credits 'count' towards the 8 credits or no? I'm just wondering because I must decide whether to take one semester of general bio or wo semesters. Hope somebody can help. Thanks.

What is meant by the "8 biology credit" requirement is you need to have 6 lecture credits and 2 laboratory credits in general biology, which works out to be a full year of general biology. Biochemistry will not fulfill your basic biology requirement.

I am surprised biology is not a prereq for biochemistry, but not too surprised because it isn't a prereq here at UF for the class either...just seems a tad odd they would allow you to take a class with the name bio in it having no biology background at all.
