How do you sift through all the crap the passage is talking about for the biological sciences? The passages and to some extent the questions seem so convoluted and a lot of times have no idea wtf what topic its trying to ask me. What is the best strategy into trying to figure out WTF the question is trying to ask? Do you think a lot of times you need to understand the passage 100% to be able to answer the questions?

I don't think you need to understand the passage 100%, but for the experiment based passages you definitely have to figure out the main ideas like the hypothesis being tested and the implications of the results. I haven't taken my MCAT yet, but I think the best thing to do would be to go through the official guide, self-assessments, and AAMC exams to figure out how the test writers think and work out the strategy that works best for you. With a lot of practice you start to get a feel for the types of things they'll ask from the passage and how they'll link it to basic bio concepts you already know.
