bio question gives diff answer in destroyer and kaplan. Help!

ok so in destroyer bio ques 237. it says that if a dna strand undergoes 4 rounds of replication there is 12.5% of the original two strands. Kaplan blue book has the same exact question and the answer is given as 6.25%. Does anyone know which one is correct??and why??

the answer should be 1/16 which is 6.25%. this is if this is how u count the rounds.

One is how many pieces have DNA at least partially from the original DNA. The other interprets it as the percentage of strands from the original.
 
DNA is semi-conservative. Meaning half of the original double stand gets passed on. SO start off like this. You a have double stand DNA. Take half o that. 50%. Then take half of that half, which is now 25%. If you take half of that you get 12.5%. But that is only 3 times, so if you halve a 12.5% you get 6.25% which is the answer.
