can someone please explain to me why 'the greater the distance between two genes on a chromosome, the more likely the two genes will cross over during synapsis'
I am having trouble understanding this..I thought crossing over occurs between homologes not between genes on the same chromosome. Can someone please elaborate on that? Or maybe provide a good youtube link or a picture? Thank you!
