The synthesis of 1 glucose molecule costs 18 ATP (as well as 12 NADH and 6CO2).

And this is photosynthesis, not cellular respiration.

A question like this woun't exactly show up this way on the DAT. If it were to show up, it woun't ask "how many" ATPs are used, but rather "why" ATP is used in photosynthesis.

And one of your answer choices will say that because the reduction of CO2 gas is an energy requiring process

I guess that makes sense because carbonyls tend to be stable...
